MIXING CURLS TO CREATE UNIQUE LASH SETS

Creating something unique and amazing for your client's new lash set can be done by simply mixing lash curls. Your clients will be obsessed and you can be sure to know you're doing something different than anybody else. There is of course, nothing wrong in using the same throughout a lash set and indeed, somethings it is the best approach for a particular client. But playing with and mixing curls in each set could make a huge difference and make those lashes pop. What can you achieve by mixing curls?

    • Compliment the client's eye shape.
    • Add a pop of colour to a lash set.
    • Give a stunning lift to the outer corners.
    • Perfect the top line of the lashes.
    • Each set will be unique for each client.

Let's first take a look at some of the most popular curls, such as - C, CC, and D before diving into the world of some more interesting and thicker combinations. No matter if you're trained in Classic Lash Extensions, perfecting your Russian Volume Lashes or mastering Hybrid Lash Sets - you are sure to find these tips useful at any stage of your career.

    MIXING C, CC & D

If a client has straight natural lashes in the middle section, but they have curlier uplifted natural lashes in the inner and outer corners, using CC Curls in the middle and C Curls in the outer lashes will give the middle section a lifting look. This will achieve a natural finish which wont create an over-lifting in the corners.

However, for clients with natural lashes growing downwards in the outer corners, you can use C/CC Curls through the inner-middle part of the set. Then you can go in with a D Curl to give the outer corners the desired lift.

    USING M & L CURLS

Usually, M Curl Lashes and L Curl Lashes are not as commonly used. They can seem a little intimidating if not used before. But, these Curls let you create a stunning and eye-catching look when you know how and when to use them.

While M and L Curl lashes may seem like 'specialist' curls, they can be used for pretty much every client, it simply comes down to how they will blend in with the natural lashes and other curls you may use in the lash application.

When using M or L curls, it would be best to start with C curls in the inner corners. Depending on the desired dramatic effect you want to create, you may swap L or M curls early on in the lash line to create a spikier look. If you swap into an L or M curl towards the end of the eye, it will give a gorgeous eyeliner effect.

It is also a great idea to mix curls when you use Coloured Lashes. Using Coloured Lashes in a C curl applied to the bottom layer of the set will give a more exciting and unique effect. Blend the Coloured Lashes with the top line (use the same lengths as your mapping) or if you want them to stand out a bit more, spikes could be used 2-3mm longer than the black lashes in your set.

Ultimately, mixing lash curls comes down to your individual creativity and the natural lashes of your clients. Mixing curls in your lash extension treatments is always a fun and creative idea for a unique look which enhances the natural beauty of your client's lashes. There are not strict rules as the how man curls you can mix. Grab yourself a Mixed-Length Tray with a variety of curls and find out what kind of lash set you can come up with.
