Tips And Tricks For Making Sure You Never Run Out Of Lash Supplies!

Being a business owner, there are just so many different elements to consider. And sometimes, just sometimes, we forget to put in that supply order we really needed like, yesterday. Using next day delivery can be risky, and what if it is a Friday and we need a Saturday delivery? Not only is that risky, but often quite expensive.

So now it’s time to be solution focussed. How can we avoid this happening in the future and not wait until we have completely run out of products before restocking.

What Can You Stock Up On Ahead Of Time?

Stock control. Similarly to how they do this in supermarkets, you want to take note of products that have short expiry dates, long expiry dates and no expiry dates. So starting with lashes. These have no expiry so there’s no need to worry about these, just take count of them every so often to make sure you've got the lengths and curls you need.

Then there’s eyepatches and tape. Again just taking a count is all that really needs to be done here but remember that eyepatches do have an expiry date, but these are typically very long, and as they're single use you’re safe stocking up on these as well.

Liquids are another product you can stock up on to some degree, as they have longer expiry dates. Products such as pretreatment or lash extension removers are great for this however it is wise not to have too many. We advise no more than 3 or any of these items as it can be easy to lose track of when you bought specific products, their expiry dates, and which to use next. Our TOP TIP for this is to get a piece of tape and write the date on it with when you opened it.

What Can’t You Stock Up On?

Glue, that’s it really! This always needs to be bought fresh to ensure the best retention. Always remember that glue has a 6 month shelf life from DOP (date of production). For our London Lash glues you can find this number on the bottom of the bottle and on the aluminium pouch that the glues arrive in. Our advice is once opened, replace your glue within 4-6 weeks to get the best result

If needs be, you can keep 2 months’ worth of glue on hand just in case. But don’t say we didn’t warn you, we honestly think it is much better not to!

Below are our TOP TIPS for how to remember to place your lash order:

  1. Block out some time in your calendar to place your order and DON’T get distracted. Even if a client walks in, just make sure you’ve fully checked out.
  2. Make sure you have enough time. Don't try to place your orders in between clients - you'll likely miss or forget something. This can lead to running out and maybe even having to place a second order and additional shipping fees. Unless you place an order that is €150 or more, in which case your shipping is free.
  3. Create a list of your more frequent buys and tick them off as you add them so nothing is missed.

Lastly, while you’re stocking up, I highly recommend grabbing a spare set oftweezers, just in case!
